We’re teetering on the precipice of the Big Day – yaaay! – which also means that we’re also edging closer to Parade Day too. Exciting stuff!
As you all know, we take the safety of everyone at the Parade very seriously and each year we get permission to close St Francis Road, down by our starting point, as well as the roads along North Street, Cannon Street, British Road and the top end of South Street down to Compass Point.
This year is no different, and so on Saturday 11th January, road closures will be starting from about 3pm on St Francis Road, and will be fully in effect across the route shortly after that.
We’ve been out and about dropping letters on all streets that will be affected and you can see one of them at the bottom of this post.
Thank you for your patience
We’d like to thank all residents and local road users in advance for their patience on Parade day, and for thinking of the safety of the community who will be out on the streets during this time.
Alternative routes will be available, and if you find yourself up by a closed off part of the route, our lovely stewards will be happy to point you in the right direction.
Please be assured that, should any emergency services need access, we will work to make that happen.
Any questions, please get in touch with us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Love from the #bemmylanterns team
